About Panorama Resort

Panorama Ski Resort is located in British Columbia’s Kootenay Rockies near the town of Invermere. It has over 2,847 acres of terrain, 120 marked trails, 1 bowl, and 1 terrain park, all accessible by 10 lifts.

Panorama is known for wide-open fall-line cruisers, powder-filled tree lines, and the steep and deep rides in alpine bowls. It is part of British Columbia’s “Powder Highway”, a circular route that passes by 8 alpine resorts known for excellent backcountry, cat- and heli-skiing operations.

Snowfall and Conditions

Panorama receives an average of 204 inches of snowfall per season. Snow is typically dry, with temperatures averaging around -5°C (23°F). Cold snaps can drop to -30°C (-22°F), so gear planning is important. Checking the current weather conditions at Panorama before your trip is recommended.

Winter at Panorama

Panorama’s lift network moves up to 8,500 riders per hour, which keeps wait times low and allows for consistent laps on groomers, glades, and alpine terrain.

Advanced skiers and riders can head to Taynton Bowl for steep, deep, black diamond terrain that feels like the backcountry without leaving resort boundaries.

Heli-skiing is a popular attraction for the intermediate+ crowd, and the resort is considered to have of the best heli-skiing terrain in B.C.

First tracks and night skiing are fun experiences offered December through March, weather dependent.

Off the main slopes, the Panorama Nordic Centre maintains 20 km of groomed cross-country trails. Snowshoeing and snowmobiling routes are easy to access directly from the resort.

When it’s time for a rest day - and you’ll certainly need it - Radium Hot Springs is a nearby attraction. Or head into the nearby town of Invermere, home to the Lake Windermere Whiteway. This 34 km multi-use track is for skating, Nordic skiing, walking, snowshoeing, and fat biking.

Winter Activities at Panorama Mountain Resort: Skiing, Snowboarding, Private and Group Lessons for Adults and Kids, Cross-Country/Nordic Skiing, Heli-skiing, Snowshoeing,  Snowmobiling, Natural Hot Pools, Paragliding, Fat Biking, and Ice Skating.

Summer at Panorama

Summer at Panorama Mountain Resort typically begins in mid-May, weather permitting, and continues through early September. The lower mountain remains open for downhill biking and hiking. The bike park includes more than 30 km of lift-accessed downhill and cross-country trails. Most routes are designed for intermediate and expert riders, with roughly 10 percent rated for beginners. Rentals and lessons are available.

New additions for the 2025 summer season include the Wild Rider Mountain Coaster and the Timberline Traverse aerial ropes course. The mountain coaster descends a 1 km track from the top of the Discovery Quad chairlift, dropping about 165 m and reaching speeds of up to 40 km per hour. The Timberline Traverse tower rises about 60 feet and features 50 obstacles across four levels.

Greywolf Golf Course adds another draw with an 18-hole championship layout framed by the Purcell Mountains.
