About Breckenridge Resort
Breckenridge Resort has over 180 trails and nearly 3,000 acres of terrain across its five peaks in Colorado’s Ten Mile Range. Affectionately known as “Breck,” the resort is known for its high-alpine, above-treeline terrain, as well as being home to North America’s highest chairlift, the Imperial SuperChair. Breckenridge is also the largest historic district in Colorado, with more than 200 shops, restaurants, and modern amenities. The town features candy-colored Victorian architecture and has implemented sustainability measures, including a ban on plastic water bottles and the removal of plastic from all on-mountain dining.
Snowfall and Conditions
Ski season at Breckenridge runs from mid-November to mid-April, with an average annual snowfall of 355 inches. Winter at Breckenridge
Breckenridge has three main base areas that serve as the access points to the mountain. The base at Peak 8 is the resort's flagship area. With terrain access for all, first-timers to experts, it’s also home to ski and ride school headquarters, sports rental and retail shops, lift ticket and season pass office, as well as dining options and the newest resort facilities.
Each of the resort’s five peaks has its own style and personality. Peak 9 offers some of the best beginner-friendly terrain, while Peak 10 is almost entirely advanced and expert runs. Above the treeline, the high-alpine bowls on Peaks 6, 7, and 8 provide expansive expert terrain. The resort also has 4 terrain parks designed for different ability levels. For rest days and non-skier activities there’s fat biking, a tubing park, ice skating, and horse-drawn sleigh rides, among other activities. The free BreckConnect Gondola links downtown Breckenridge to the Peak 8 base, making it easy to access shopping, dinning and activities in town.

Summer at Breckenridge
The resort’s summer activity hub is found at Peak 8. Accessible via the free BreckConnect Gondola, conveniently located in the centre of town, activities include bungee trampoline, mini golf, plus an alpine slide and coaster. Take a scenic gondola ride on the Colorado SuperChair up to Alpine Camp, where you’ll find mountain biking trails, a climbing wall, an obstacle course, and hiking trails. Typical summer operations at Breckenridge run from mid-June to September 1st.

Getting Around Breckenridge
Most people find it unnecessary to rent a car to get around Breckenridge, due to the many slopeside lodging options, ski-to-town trails, and the BreckConnect Gondola. The Breck Free Ride bus system and free Main Street Trolley operate year-round, servicing the most popular neighborhoods.
Most hotels and other lodging providers have free shuttles for their guests. Taxis and ride share companies also operate within the area.
What’s New at Breckenridge
The resort added three new chairlifts within three years: the Freedom SuperChair in 2021 on Peak 7, the upgraded Rip’s Ride in 2022 and the Five Chair revamp on Peak 8, most recently in 2023.
Embracing sustainability, Breckenridge has a plastic water bottle ban, encouraging visitors to bring refillable water bottles. All on-mountain dining is also plastic-free.
Getting to Breckenridge Resort
Breckenridge is about a two-hour drive from Denver International Airport and roughly 90 minutes from downtown Denver. Travel times can be longer during winter weather or peak travel periods.
Shuttle services operate year-round, offering both private and shared options with space for luggage and ski gear. Booking in advance is recommended, especially during winter.
