Village Walk Ski Lodging — Town Home at Sun Peaks

We stayed at Village Walk #19 over Christmas 2024. When we arrived, the condo was freezing cold, just like every year (they know you're coming so why do they turn the heat down to 15 degrees?!) so we went to every room to turn on the heat. 3 hours later it was still 15 degrees.. We called the property manager to let them know. They were not too concerned and showed up a couple hours later but luckily in the meantime we had found the breaker panel (which is in the garage in case this ever happens to you at this unit) and switched the breaker on, and we got heat. Even though this place is new and spacious, I feel like it is treated like a cheap rental by the owners/property managers because at least 50% of the light bulbs in the place were burnt out. There were no towels for the hot tub. The kitchen had very basic/minimal supplies such as bowls, serving dishes and pots and pans. I was disappointed and felt like we were in some cheap rental, except that it's not cheap. I'm not sure if I would rent this unit again.

This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. We had 7 adults, and all were comfortable. Having the private hot tub set it over the top. Easy walk to the village, and able to ski down to the place with only a short walk left. Longer walk to the lifts in the morning but nice to get the muscles working. Sun Peaks has a lot of great runs, we were pleasantly surprised.

This is a fabulous and very comfortable property that is quiet and private, despite being only a few minutes walk to the village and part of a complex of other units. It is an easy walk to the grocery store (and the wine shop!) and to the many restaurants in the main village area. The pizza shop delivers after 5pm too! The room set up worked very well for our two families, with a bunk room on the lower level which was perfect for the teenagers - with their own TV and sofa, and own bathroom, plus spa outside. The beds were comfortable with lovely linen. Soap, shampoo, towels etc were all provided, and our rubbish was removed on request. The kitchen is large and functional, with everything you need. The house was super warm too. There are numerous thermostats for individual heaters, so you can set the heating to suit each bedroom and living area. The garage has plenty of space for skis/boots etc, plus a boot drier. We flew in and didn't have a car and didn't feel we needed one. On ski days, it is only a short stomp to the top of the village, where you can ski down the main path and directly onto the main lifts. Morrisey and Orient lifts are a walk in the other direction, but easily accessible either on foot or by taking other lifts for access. There is a snowshoe/walking trail right out back, which is a lovely walk to the other end of Sun Peaks if you fancy a day off the slopes. (You can then either walk back or jump on a free shuttle.)

We love Village walk for the location in relation to the village as well as the ski hill and for the bright open spaces, large kitchen and dining areas, and beautiful ensuite.
