A Full Day of Fun and Exploring via the Heavenly Mountain Gondola
No matter the season, a ride up the 2.4 mile-long Heavenly Mountain Gondola is an absolute must. You’ll find the loading dock for the gondola located at the heart of Heavenly Village. This ride offers breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe and stops that will leave you spellbound.
Ever wondered what it’s like to ride the gondola without skis? Let’s embark on this exhilarating journey up the mountain together! Our first stop is the Observation Deck, about halfway up. Step off the gondola (which slows down almost to a halt, giving you plenty of time to exit comfortably) and take in the views. Enjoy a snack or a warm drink at Café Blue, or bring your own picnic to enjoy at the outdoor tables. You’ll want to remember that you can only stop here on your way up, so take your time to savor the moment before continuing your ascent.
At the summit, more adventures await. In the summer, you’ll find a mountain coaster, tubing, zip lines, ropes courses, hiking trails, and more. Winter offers its own delights with snow tubing and the perfect après-ski experience with drinks and snacks at Tamarack Lodge, open year-round.
Heavenly’s distinct seasons—winter from late November to late April and summer from June to late September—each bring unique experiences. If you’ve purchased a lift ticket for the week or the season, the gondola ride is included. Otherwise, tickets are available ($73 for adults, $36 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for children under 5). The magic we witnessed was not only astonishing but also highly interactive, with the magician engaging volunteers of all ages from the audience. Even the skeptics in our group were left in awe, repeatedly asking, "How did he do that?" long after the show ended. Tickets for the show range from $24 to $44, and are best purchased in advance online from The Loft’s website to secure prime seating.
Enjoy a meal at the theater’s restaurant or a drink at the bar before or after the show. We indulged in a few drinks before our 9 pm show, adding to the overall fun.
