About Banff

Amidst the breathtaking expanse of Banff National Park lie three magnificent ski resorts and two charming mountain communities: Banff and Lake Louise. Spanning over 1.6 million acres of unspoiled wilderness, Banff National Park stands as Canada's inaugural National Park and the world's third-oldest, boasting pristine landscapes that evoke a sense of rugged beauty and wonder. For skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, this translates into an unparalleled experience amidst towering peaks, glacier-fed lakes, and some of the driest, lightest snow imaginable. Imagine endless vistas untouched by human development, where pristine snow-covered peaks and dense forests weave a fairy-tale-like setting. Within this winter wonderland, Banff National Park hosts three distinct mountain resorts—Mt. Norquay, The Lake Louise Ski Resort, and Banff Sunshine—offering a combined 8,000 acres of skiing and riding accessible with a single tri-area lift ticket.

Banff Sunshine, situated atop the Continental Divide within Banff National Park, boasts three sprawling mountains that offer panoramic views unmarred by civilization. With a seven-month ski season stretching from November to May—the longest non-glacial season in Canada—Sunshine receives up to nine meters (30 feet) of snow annually. Its base-area altitude of 7,200 feet ensures light, dry, and incredibly skiable snow conditions. The resort's terrain spans over 3,300 acres, catering to all skill levels from gentle beginner runs to extreme big mountain terrain, including the renowned Delirium Dive off-piste area and the expansive Great Divide Terrain Park.

Meanwhile, Lake Louise Ski Resort is renowned for its breathtaking scenery and diverse terrain, covering over 4,200 acres across four mountain faces. Just minutes from the village of Lake Louise, the resort offers an exceptional layout allowing skiers and riders of all abilities to access beginner, intermediate, and expert runs from every chairlift. From gentle slopes and long cruising runs to challenging glades, chutes, and expansive bowls, Lake Louise offers a variety of terrain amidst the stunning backdrop of the Canadian Rockies.

Established in 1926, Mt. Norquay Ski Resort continues to captivate locals and visitors alike with its excellent beginner terrain and unique offerings. Located just minutes from the town of Banff, Mt. Norquay is renowned for its night skiing—the only one offered in Banff National Park—along with a family-friendly atmosphere and Tube Town, featuring eight lanes of tubing fun. With outstanding conditions for skiers and riders of all levels, Mt. Norquay provides an unforgettable experience amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Canadian Rockies.
