About the Resort

In the heart of the Okanagan Valley, Big White Ski Resort welcomes the champagne powder that makes BC's interior famous for ideal ski conditions. With lots of sunshine, and close to 300 inchesover 760 centimetres of snowfall a year blanketing over 110 runs, Big White is the perfect winter playground.

The great mix of beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails–and several expert trails for the dare-devils in the family–means that Big White offers something to skiers and boarders of every skill level. Big White's ski school will get those new to the slopes started, taking ages as young as three. Once the foundations are mastered, improve those skills with age-specific children's lessons, teen and adult lessons and programs, and private lessons. The expansive resort area–over 7,300 acresalmost 3000 hectares–provides endless trails to explore, both on and off the skis. Enjoy stunning views of the Okanagan Valley and the surrounding mountains while skiing through Big White's iconic “snow ghosts”–trees fully encased by snow.

Big White has a well-earned reputation as a go-to resort for family trips. The village and slopes are designed for the convenience of Big White's guests, whether walking to the village after winter activities or skiing directly to the doors of a favorite restaurant or shop. The lower village is surrounded by family-friendly activities. Teach your little ones to skate on the outdoor ice rink, take the family on a horse-drawn sleigh ride, or race each other down a snowy hill in tubes. With regular events, such as carnival nights and fireworks, Big White has entertainment covered day and night.

Canada's highest alpine village is the perfect size to stroll through with all the essentials of a fantastic ski trip: an international candy selection at Mountainside to refuel the kids after a day on the slopes, gift shops filled with local souvenirs, and an energetic nightlife for fun-filled evenings. The village offers everything from quaint cafes to sit-down restaurants to Ski Canada Magazine's #1 voted ski bar, Snowshoe Sam.

The abundance of accommodations–with room for 17,000 guests–and incredible ski-in ski-out options will ensure you find your ideal home-away-from-home. With a well-designed village, a welcoming atmosphere, and days of fun for all ages, Big White Ski Resort is ready to give you the ultimate family ski vacation!
