Getting Here

Flying into Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport is the most convenient way to reach Big Sky. Upon arrival, car rentals provide the flexibility needed for exploration, as public transportation options are limited in the area. It's worth noting that ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are not available in Big Sky, so it's essential to book transportation or rental cars well in advance to secure availability upon arrival.

Once you've exited the airport terminal, follow these driving directions: Turn right onto Frontage Road/MT-205 and continue for about one and a half miles. Then, make a left onto MT-291 South/Jackrabbit Lane and continue for seven and a half miles until Jackrabbit Lane transitions into US-191 at the Huffine Lane intersection. Stay on US-191 for 34 miles, then turn right at the stoplight onto Lone Mountain Trail/MT-64, where you'll spot flagpoles and a Conoco station. Finally, make a left onto Big Sky Resort Road and keep an eye out for the Welcome sign to know you've arrived at the Big Sky/Moonlight Basin ski area. If traveling in winter, ensure your vehicle is equipped with appropriate winter tires and feel confident driving in snowy conditions.

For those who prefer not to rent a car, alternative transportation options are available. Local transportation providers offer services from Bozeman to Big Sky and beyond. Within Big Sky, the Skyline Bus service provides complimentary rides between the slopes and Town Center. Additionally, utilizing the Go Gallatin App to find carpool opportunities is encouraged.

The Skyline Bus operates seven days a week during the summer and winter seasons, covering various stops throughout Big Sky, including Gallatin Canyon hotels, restaurants, Mountain Village, and Moonlight Basin. Riders can enjoy the convenience of the bus service at no cost, making it an accessible option for getting around the area.
