The condo was "tired" with fraying carpets and old fixtures and badly in need of paint but it was clean and cozy and we didn't require more. By walking through the Chateau Chamonix, the more upscale condo development down the driveway, we found convenient access to the slopes. However, this is a privilege we took for ourselves in spite of signs saying the access was for guests of those condos only. If not for this, the walk would have been much longer. The bus was nearby, but miss it and you wait 20 minutes... a long time in the morning with long lift lines. The hot tub jets were not working. We liked that the unit had an actual wood burning fireplace insert rather than gas. The kitchen had all we needed for cooking.

There is also an on-site hot tub to relax your tired muscles after a long day on the slopes. Ski Ranch is located just down the road from the slopes of Steamboat, a short hundred yard walk to and from the lifts.
