Rebecca's suggestions were great, and made our trip much easier and enabled more time for fu.

Unit #300 of Scandinavian Lodge is nicely updated and has a great view. It is a very comfortable 3B/3b and has most of the amenities you'd need (though you'll need to buy staples such as olive oil, etc.) There are also two gas grills down by the pool and hot tub.

The one thing it would have helped to know beforehand is the walking distance to the Thunderhead Express lift (and slopes), which we paced out to be approximately 400 yards -- and that it is walk-in and walk-out. (Others told us that there's also a trail you could ski down, and eventually get to the base; however, that trail is separated from the slopes by a road, so we never went that way.)

The shuttle service is fast and convenient, and makes it possible to enjoy restaurants and get groceries downtown without having to rent a car.
